Terms of Service

Last updated September 2026

Agreement

These terms govern your use of Catchliner, an AI receptionist service that answers your calls, website chats, and connected social channels on your behalf. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

The service

Catchliner uses an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) to hold conversations with your customers, answer questions based on the business information you provide, capture leads, book appointments, and follow up with people who don't convert. Some channels — Facebook Messenger, Instagram DM, WhatsApp, and Google Reviews — require approval from Meta or Google before they work for your real customers; connecting them lets you test the setup, but they may not be functional until that approval is granted, on a timeline we don't control.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, including the business information you give the AI to work from and any messages it sends on your behalf as a result.

Subscription & billing

New accounts get a 14-day free trial, no card required. After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription (€99/month at the time of writing), billed automatically through Stripe until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard — your service continues until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and we don't offer refunds for partial months. Prices may change; we'll give you notice before any change applies to you.

AI-generated responses

The AI does its best to answer accurately based on the information you give it, but it can make mistakes, misunderstand a request, or occasionally produce an incorrect answer — the same as any employee could. You're responsible for reviewing the business information and instructions you provide, keeping them accurate and up to date, and for the consequences of the AI acting on them. We recommend not relying on the AI for anything where a wrong answer could cause serious harm (medical, legal, or safety-critical information, for example).

Payments you take through the service

If you connect your own Stripe account, Catchliner can generate payment links on your behalf for your customers to pay you directly — that money goes straight to your Stripe account, never through ours. You're responsible for your own tax, refund, and dispute obligations on anything you sell this way.

Acceptable use

Don't use Catchliner to send unsolicited spam, harass anyone, break the law, or misrepresent who's contacting a customer. Follow-up messages must comply with applicable rules for the channel you're using (for example, SMS opt-out and consent requirements) — every automated text we send includes a STOP option, and every email includes an unsubscribe link, but the underlying legality of your outreach list and content is your responsibility.

Service availability

We aim to keep Catchliner running reliably, but this is an actively developed product and we don't currently guarantee a specific uptime commitment. We'll do our best to give notice of planned maintenance that could interrupt service.

Intellectual property

We own Catchliner's software, branding, and design. You own your own business content — the information, instructions, and materials you give the AI to work from — and the conversation data your customers generate while talking to it.

Termination

You can close your account at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, doesn't pay, or creates real risk to the service or other accounts — we'll try to give notice first except where the issue requires immediate action.

Limitation of liability

Catchliner is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including lost revenue from a missed lead, an inaccurate AI response, or a channel being unavailable. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where reasonable, notify you directly.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
